Artist`s Statement
Sadly, this elegant lady died in 2006 and her husband asked me to portray her as he remembered her as a young woman in the 1950s. Working from photographs is not always easy, as there is a limit to the visual information available, but I was pleased with the overall quiet dignity of this painting.
